I found this video interesting. I think this senior staff member has truly lost their mental balance. I often see people like this and hear similar stories. In my opinion, these workers have developed mental health issues due to constant customer harassment.
Station counters deal with all kinds of people, and staff often have many bad experiences. This leads them to hate their jobs and perform sloppy work. They know they won’t be fired easily because they are protected by the labor union. This cycle of harassment is a very deep-rooted problem in Japan.
thanks for sharing mika! yeah when people can stay at a job easily, there isnt much incentive for them to work hard. But i hope that both customers and staff can be more respectful of each other.
